2020 Non Bazaar

Transcript of worship service announcement by Mona Huggins

I would like to share with you a couple of stories of how the FBC Bazaar has used its proceeds to support missions. The stories are related to Bethel Neighborhood Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Back in 2013 the Kansas American Baptist Board heard that Bethel was in need of a garage for their vans because when left outside, they were being vandalized. That year the Board chose Bethel as the state project with a goal of earning $30,000 to help with the building of a 3-van garage. FBC Olathe contributed to that project with money that had been earned from the fall bazaar! God had bigger plans for Bethel than just a garage!! With the money given by Kansas American Baptist Women Ministries, Bethel was able to proceed with a capital improvements campaign that exceeded the two million dollar amount! It has taken a few years, but on December 1, the renovation of the building will be dedicated. If you wish to participate in this virtual tour of Bethel, please login to the abccr.org website.

The second story relates to the new sewing classes that Bethel started. Sewing machines and tables were donated quickly, but chairs were needed. Because of our church's relationship with Bethel, our ABW was able to purchase twenty chairs using Bazaar proceeds from the 2018 fall bazaar!

These are just two examples of how the ABW Fall Bazaar proceeds are supporting missions. In the past five years, the Bazaar has profited over $6,500 annually. This year; however, due to Covid-19, the Board felt it was not safe to hold a bazaar. So, we are asking for monetary donations instead. Won't you please pray about how you can help support the "UN-Bazaar"? Our goal is $5,000, and with your help we can reach that goal. Thank you for supporting the Bazaar in the past, and may God's blessing pour out to you as you make a donation to the Bazaar fund this year.

The ABW Fall Non Bazaar is the November mission emphasis. You can give by clicking the online giving button on the website or mail your check to the church office.
